Senior Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineer\nLocation: Manchester\nSalary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Benefits (DOE)\n\nA well-established geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineer to join its growing Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of a wide range of ground investigation and contaminated land projects across the commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure sectors.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from tender stage through to completion, mentoring junior staff, and providing technical expertise across both geotechnical and geoenvironmental disciplines.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManaging and delivering geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects throughout the UK.\nDesigning, supervising and managing ground investigations.\nUndertaking geotechnical assessments including foundation recommendations, slope stability and earthworks assessments.\nCompleting Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations and contamination risk assessments.\nPreparing and reviewing factual and interpretative reports.\nManaging project budgets, programmes and client relationships.\nLiaising with contractors, clients and regulatory authorities.\nMentoring and supporting junior engineers and engineering geologists.\nAssisting with business development and tender preparation.Requirements:\n\nDegree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Geoscience or a related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years' experience within a geotechnical or geoenvironmental consultancy.\nStrong knowledge of UK ground investigation practices and contaminated land legislation.\nExperience supervising site investigations and managing projects.\nExcellent report writing and client-facing skills.\nWorking knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.\nChartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.\nFull UK driving licence.What's on Offer:\n\nCompetitive salary and annual bonus scheme.\nClear pathway to Principal Engineer level.\nHybrid working opportunities.\nCompany pension and private healthcare.\nProfessional membership fees paid.\nOngoing training and support towards chartership.\nOpportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects across the UK.This position would suit an ambitious engineer looking to take the next step in their career with a growing consultancy that offers genuine progression, technical development and the opportunity to influence the future growth of the business
