Senior Engineering Manager - Acquiring Platform

The customer base is multi 100,000. The data-sets are large (500 million events per day). This data is used by those merchants to help run their businesses. As such everything we do here has massive impact on our business and also to our merchants, and there are some deep technical challenges to grapple with.What you will be doingThe role is a manager of managers, as such its important to have experience managing teams. Its not essential to have managed managers previously, so this could be a good progression for a strong Engineering Manager to step up to Senior Engineering Manager level with a solid path to Director possible.We are currently transforming the process to agile and the tech stack to microservices, as suchEnsuring that agile, test and development best practices are adopted and followed is key.Having a strong understanding of microservice’s architectures, being able to guide their teams on the overall approach is also very important.As services are delivered into production, ensuring retrospectives are run and production incidents are always followed with a PIR is essential.What you bring:Solid background in software engineering with 5+ years leading and managing teams.Have line management experience, appraisals, setting objectives, hiringStrong agile process experience (scrum, lean, SAFe)Have delivered multiple products into production previously and successfully as a leader of team(s)Good understanding of how to design microservices architectures, ideally at scale.Added bonus if you have:AWSKafkaWhat we offer youAttractive benefits including private medical cover, dental cover, and travel insuranceA multifaceted job with a high degree of responsibility and a broad spectrum of opportunitiesPrivacy StatementFIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information that we process in order to provide services to our clients.
