This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you'll have genuine responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence operational performance.\n\nWhether you're already leading a production area or are an ambitious Supervisor ready to step up, we'd like to hear from you.\n\nThe Production Leader Role\n\nAs Production Leader, you will take ownership of a production area, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets are achieved. You will lead and develop a team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with the Production Manager and support functions to deliver operational excellence.\n\nProduction Leader Key Responsibilities\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nLead, motivate, and develop a production team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nConduct performance reviews and support employee development.\nManage attendance, holidays, overtime, and workforce planning.\nDeliver daily team briefings and KPI review meetings.\nEnsure employees have the skills, training, and competencies required to meet production demands.\nDrive accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement activities.\nProduction & Operational Performance\n\nDeliver production plans safely, efficiently, and on time.\nMonitor and improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery KPIs.\nIdentify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and resource constraints.\nAnalyse team performance and implement corrective actions where required.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.\nDrive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work initiatives.\nHealth, Safety & Environment\n\nPromote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.\nLead risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections.\nChampion 5S and workplace organisation standards.\nEnsure compliance with PPE requirements and safe systems of work.\nInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.\nSupport ISO 14001 environmental standards and compliance activities.\nEnsure equipment is safe, fit for purpose, and properly maintained.\nQuality\n\nMonitor quality performance and implement corrective actions.\nSupport root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.\nDrive a "Right First Time" quality culture.\nEnsure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.\nReduce waste, defects, and non-conformance through continuous improvement.\nAbout You\n\nWe welcome applications from candidates with experience in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, automotive, aerospace, packaging, food production, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, or similar production environments.\n\nProduction Leader Essential Skills & Experience\n\nExperience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.\nPrevious Team Leader, Supervisor, Shift Manager, or Production Leadership experience.\nStrong people management and communication skills.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.\nExperience using production systems and reporting tools.\nAbility to motivate teams and drive operational performance.\nExperience training, coaching, and developing employees.\nDesirable\n\nNVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.\nLeadership or Supervisory qualification.\nKnowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence tools.\nExperience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nWhat's on Offer?\n\nCompetitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000.\nComprehensive benefits package.\nCareer progression and development opportunities.\nOngoing training and leadership development.\nStable and growing business.\nSupportive and collaborative working environment.\nOpportunity to make a real impact within a high-performing operations team.\nApply Today\n\nIf you're a Production Leader, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Team Leader, Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager, Operations Supervisor, or an ambitious manufacturing professional ready for the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nApply now to learn more about this exciting opportunity.\n\nTo view more jobs from Bamford Contract Services, Find us on Facebook bamfordcs or follow us on Twitter bamfordcs
