Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for helping young learners flourish?

Long Term Futures are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Aston to appoint a KS1 Teaching Assistant from September. This is a varied role where you'll support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1, delivering targeted interventions, providing additional support for pupils with SEN, and occasionally covering PPA sessions using pre-planned lessons.

This opportunity would also suit an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence leading lessons and develop a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum within a supportive school environment.

The Role

\n
• Support pupils across Key Stage 1 to maximise engagement and progress.
\n
• Deliver focused interventions in phonics, literacy and mathematics to small groups.
\n
• Provide 1:1 support for children with additional learning needs.
\n
• Adapt classroom activities to meet the needs of pupils with differing abilities.
\n
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
\n
• Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to implement learning strategies and monitor progress.
\n
• Cover occasional PPA sessions by delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
\n
• Help create a stimulating, inclusive classroom where every child is encouraged to succeed.

The Ideal Candidate

\n
• Experience working within a Key Stage 1 classroom.
\n
• Good knowledge of phonics and early reading development.
\n
• Confident delivering intervention sessions independently.
\n
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN within a mainstream primary setting.
\n
• Willingness to undertake occasional PPA cover.
\n
• Positive, adaptable and nurturing approach.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
\n
