Event Technician (Lighting Engineer)

Flexibility is essential, as the role will involve travel throughout the UK and occasional evening and weekend work in line with event schedules.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, prepare, install and operate lighting systems for a wide range of corporate, commercial and private events, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and creative standards.\nCollaborate with project managers, producers and creative teams to understand event objectives, develop lighting solutions and adapt designs throughout the project lifecycle.\nProgramme, configure and operate lighting consoles and associated software, ensuring reliable performance during live events and productions.\nLead, supervise and support freelance crew, junior technicians and event staff, promoting safe working practices and efficient project delivery.\nMaintain, test, troubleshoot and prepare lighting equipment within warehouse facilities, whilst coordinating equipment logistics, deliveries and collections using company vehicles.\nBuild strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, venues and event stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations, industry best practices and company standards at all times.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nMinimum 2 years' experience as a Lighting Engineer within the live events industry (corporate event experience preferred).\nProficiency with industry-standard lighting consoles, including GrandMA and/or Avolites.\nStrong knowledge of DMX protocols, networking and lighting control systems.\nExperience working with intelligent lighting fixtures and LED technology.\nAbility to read and interpret CAD drawings and lighting plots.\nExcellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.\nHigh standard of personal presentation and professionalism when representing the company.\nFlexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight stays and travel when required.\nHighly motivated with the confidence to lead by example and take ownership of projects.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment to a high presentation standard.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25kg.\nComfortable working at height and in low-light environments.\nGood manual dexterity for operating technical equipment and handling small components.\n\nBenefits\n\nCore Benefits\n\n33 days annual leave (including bank holidays).\nAdditional birthday day off after 3 years' continuous service.\nAdditional annual leave day after 5 years' continuous service.\nCompany pension scheme.\nStaff recognition programme.\nFree on-site parking.\nCompany social events.\n\nAdditional Benefits (Following Successful Probation)\n\nAward-winning healthcare package including private medical treatment, mental health support, GP access and more.\nDental, optical and audiology cover.\nEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP).\nCompany sick pay scheme.\nEnhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental pay.\nLong service rewards.\nCycle to Work scheme.\nElectric Vehicle scheme.\nIf you're passionate about live events, enjoy working with cutting-edge lighting technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you - Please contact Rebecca Barnes-Hudson – – (phone number removed)\n\nSER-IN
