Description\n\nKey responsibilities as Deputy Officer in Charge will include:\n\nAs a Deputy Manager, you will assist in the management and administration of the home, ensuring it meets all regulatory standards and provides an excellent standard of care to the children and young people who may stay for up to 12 weeks. The aim is to understand their needs in greater depth and secure a placement better suited to meet them.\n\nEnsuring that young people receive a sensitive service, which best meets their social, racial, medical, psychological, educational, cultural, physical identity and health and wellbeing needs\n\t\nEnsuring that young people are empowered to have a voice when making decisions about their lives, futures and encouraging independence\n\t\nBuilding positive relationships with families and others, ensuring consultation and participation\n\t\nEnsuring integration with the local community by using local facilities whilst developing and maintaining relationships.\n\t\nAssisting the manager to ensure the professional competence of the staff team is maintained.\n\t\nTaking responsibility under the direction of the Manager for ensuring that delegated budgets are managed effectively and the use of finances is properly monitored.\n\t\nCo-ordinating, attending and chairing meetings as required and ensuring that meetings are conducted in a manner which promotes inclusion and achievement of objectives.\n\nQualification – Essential \n\nGCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.\n\t\nLevel 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or\n\t\nRelevant qualification that meets the equivalent criteria for Social Care Wales registration\n\t\nAdvanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media and CRM.\n\nCriteria for Shortlisting - Ideal Candidate Profile:\n\nAbout you: We are looking for a person who is and has:\n\nProven experience at a senior level of working with young people within a residential childcare environment.\n\t\nRelevant qualification that meets the equivalent criteria for Social Care Wales registration, in addition to a\n\t\nExcellent communication and organisation skills\n\t\nKnowledge of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and other current legislative requirements.\n\t\nKnowledge of budget monitoring and management systems.\n\t\nKnowledge of child development, appreciation of the needs of young people.\n\t\nAbility to undertake and complete assessments.\n\t\nExperience of working with a Behaviour Support Model of Care.\n\t\nAbility to plan, organise, and prepare reports and chair meetings.\n\t\nExperience in managing staff.\n\t\nAbility to understand own duty of care, to safeguard and promote the interests of young people and challenge inappropriate practices.\n\t\nProblem-solving and decision-making skills.\n\nEssential Compliance Requirements\n\n3 Years References/Work History\n\t\nEnhanced DBS\n\t\nWilling to engage in the mandatory pre-screening application process.\n\nDiamond Blaque Group, a leading public-sector provider, is acting as the employment agency for this vacancy.
