Behaviour Teaching Assistant\n Location: Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire \n Start Date: September or sooner  \n Contract: Term Time Only.\n Salary: £93 to £110 a day.\n\nGSL Education is working with an Alternative Provision in Hull to appoint a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs, such as social, emotional, and mental health needs.\n\nSome of these students may have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, some may not be able to engage properly due to past or present experiences, and in most cases portray challenging behaviour. If you are looking for a rewarding position, term time only, GSL Education want to hear from you!\n\nAbout the Job Role as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant:\n\nWork under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO, or a member of the provisions Senior Management Team to carry out work and tasks set by the teacher.\n     Your main objective will be to support the pupils, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease.\n     Support diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours.\n     Accompany other staff on school visits and in other activities outside of the classroom and have responsibility for specific pupils or small groups as directed by the teacher.\n     Monitor and respond to pupil learning and behaviour at all times by adjusting supervised activities.\n     Monitor and is respond to pupils’ personal needs and communication.\n     Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.\n     Contribute to the planning and review of a differentiated curriculum and individual education plans and individual behaviour plans.\n     Input any ways you think would improve engagement with the students, be a helping hand and try different learning and support techniques such as interactive learning.\n     Encourage positive socialisation, interaction, and behaviours within school.\nSEMH Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:\n\nHave experience working within a PRU Unit, SEN School or an Alternative Provision is a must.\n     Have experience or in-depth knowledge of Special Educational Needs such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, Learning Difficulties such as Literacy and Numeracy difficulties and ADHD.\n     Experienced in managing behaviour linked to additional needs.\n     Be knowledgeable or experienced in using verbal de-escalation techniques.\n     Be available Monday to Friday, (Apply online only), Term Time Only.\n     Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one via GSL Education.\nIf you are keen to work full time as a Behaviour Teaching Assistants and are committed to safe working and the supervision of young people, have experience with or have always wanted to work within SEND, then we would love to hear from you.
