Account Manager\n\nLocation: Hull\nDepartment: Sales / Business Development\nReporting To: Office Manager\nSalary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year\n\nAbout the Role\n\nOur Client is seeking a confident, professional, and highly organised Key Customer Account Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of key customer accounts across the UK and Europe.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced account management professional who thrives on building strong client relationships, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving business growth. You will play a key role in managing customer expectations, coordinating project delivery, and ensuring excellent communication between clients, internal teams, and external partners.\n\nWorking across a diverse range of industries including cosmetics, healthcare, food, and fashion, you will support projects ranging from waste collection schemes and recycling initiatives to large-scale off-site operations.\n\nThe successful candidate will be environmentally conscious, customer-focused, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nKey Account Management\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for key customers, from SME businesses to large UK and European brands.\nBuild and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.\nUnderstand customer requirements and provide tailored service solutions.\nManage customer expectations while ensuring project delivery aligns with agreed objectives.\n\nClient Communication & Relationship Building\n\nMaintain daily and weekly communication with clients and brand leads.\nConduct remote meetings, business reviews, and regular engagement sessions.\nTravel to meetings, site visits, audits, and industry conferences where required.\nEnsure excellent client satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.\n\nSales & Business Development\n\nIdentify opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate additional revenue.\nProvide quotations and present the full range of available services.\nDevelop account plans to achieve sales targets and KPIs.\nEstablish and nurture new leads and client relationships.\nNegotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.\n\nProject & Contract Management\n\nExplore and define client requirements with internal stakeholders.\nBuild project briefs and oversee delivery from concept through to completion.\nManage client contracts, terms, and ongoing account support.\nEnsure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.\n\nCollaboration & Operations\n\nWork closely with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and wider UK and European teams.\nSupport courier and shipping requirements where necessary.\nEnsure effective communication across departments to meet customer requirements.\n\nMarket Research & Insights\n\nConduct research into clients, brands, and industry sectors.\nMonitor customer trends, competitor activity, and market developments.\nProvide feedback to management to support business improvements and strategic planning.\n\nReporting & Administration\n\nProduce reports for clients and internal management teams.\nMaintain accurate records of sales activity, pipelines, and forecasts.\nEnsure CRM systems are consistently updated with customer interactions and project progress.\nSupport company social media activity where required.\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\nBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).\n3-7 years' experience in Key Account Management or B2B Sales.\nStrong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.\nExcellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.\nExperience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar.\nStrong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office.\n\nPreferred Experience & Competencies\n\nExperience managing multiple high-value customer accounts simultaneously.\nA strong customer-centric mindset with excellent attention to detail.\nCommercial awareness and strategic thinking capabilities.\nResults-driven, proactive, and adaptable approach to work.\nSustainability or waste sector knowledge would be advantageous.\nUnderstanding of large consumer brands, particularly within cosmetics, healthcare, food, and fashion industries, would be beneficial.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nThe ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
